Kia announces recall for Sportage and Soul, Skoda reveals range-topping Octavia, Marchionne confirms Fiat-Chrysler to be based in London

Kia has recalled around 7000 Kia Sportage and Kia Soul models in the UK due to a possible fault seat belt fault. The firm says that in some cases the belt pre-tensioners may be faulty, and although no injuries have been reported due to failure, it is choosing to replace any potentially affected units.

Skoda has launched a new range-topping version of the Skoda Octavia. The Laurin & Klement model costs from £26,570 and features 18-inch alloy wheels, brown leather trim, adaptive cruise control and an upgraded audio system.

The headquarters of the newly-created Fiat Chrysler Automobiles will be in London rather than Italy. Speaking at a press conference, group boss Sergio Marchionne said the move was down to the need to base some functions of the group in the city. Fiat signed a £2.6 billion deal to take full control of Chrysler earlier this year.
