The best new car deals and new car leasing deals for this week, including offers on the Nissan Qashqai, Vauxhall Mokka, Hyundai ix35, BMW 5-series and Mercedes SLS AMG Roadster

If you’re in the market for a new car, or after the best new-car leasing deal, you can save thousands of pounds with a little research. Here are the picks of what our deals experts have found this week.

Best new car deals

Our own long-term Nissan Qashqai has won many supporters, thanks to its smooth diesel engine and excellent economy. New Car Discount is offering a 1.5 dCi Acenta Premium model with six-speed manual transmission for £19,292. That's a saving of £2,137 on the list price.

Rivalling the likes of the Ford Ecosport and Renault Captur, Vauxhall's Mokka baby SUV impresses with well balanced handling and good packaging inside. We spotted a 1.7-litre CDTi model in SE specification going for £15,179 on Buyacar.co.uk - a considerable saving of over £7000 from the list price.

Best new car leasing deals

A firm favourite for fleet buyers, the BMW 5-series is one of our top mid-size executive choices. A good deal from Essex Vehicle Leasing gets you a 540d M Sport model for £301 per month. That's on a four-year contract and with an initial payment of £1810. There's also an annual milage limit of 8000.

Hyundai's ix35 soft-roader combines stylish looks with good levels of kit. We found a 1.6 GDI S model for £174 per month from Yes Lease. That's on a four-year contract and with a deposit of £1045, plus there's a 10,000-mile annual limit.

Deal of the week

If you're the kind of driver with a spare £177,000 to burn through, you could do a lot worse than the Mercedes SLS AMG Roadster. One of our favourite supercars, the open-top SLS is an even more convincing proposition to drive than the coupé. So, heading over to Drive the Deal could bag you one for £159,850 - a saving of over £17,000 from the list price. And with that kind of saving, you could also buy a second car.

Confusing... or misleading?

The offer of a new "Vauxhall Mokka 1.7-litre CDTi model in SE specification going for £15,179 on Buyacar.co.uk - a considerable saving of over £7000 from the list price".. looked too good to be true. And indeed it is.
Look further, and you discover that this price refers to a 2013 (13) model with 18k miles on the clock. A new one can be had for £17,386, according to the rather confusing website.
This company often has totally confusing and somewhat misleading prices on its website, mixing new and used prices – I wonder what The Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) would have to say about this.
