An online configurator for the Lexus LFA has been launched - and it seems that just because you've got £343,000 to spend on a car, it doesn't guarantee you good taste.
In total, 28 exterior paintwork colours are available for the supercar, plus five different shades for the brake calipers, and three tones for the alloy wheels.

The exterior colours include garish numbers such as Passion Pink, Fresh Green, Lavender. All colour options can be seen at http://ww2.lexus-lfa.com/index.html
Powered by a 552bhp 4.8-litre V10, the Lexus LF-A hits 0-62mph in 3.7sec and has a top speed of 202mph. Just 500 cars will be built.

Because colour is critical as to how light reacts with the lines and appearance of cars which is also why grey/silver metallic is popular as this usually enhances the effect.
The last time I saw a pink car that had got the colour right was way back when Lamborghini did their little candyfloss number. This version looks like its from a Mattel catalogue.
Its also why flat white or matt paint without any gloss or chrome detailing to break it up looks bad on cars too.

What is so wrong with pink?
Better a different and loud colour to the mind numbing sea of metallic silver and grey cars that are the default choice these days. That's why people never forget the sight of a 964 RS in Rubystone Red, yet great swathes of silver Audis are all but invisible.
