I've just come back from Honda's R and D facility at Tochigi, just north of Tokyo.

Is there a more esoteric car company than Honda? After all, they've just launched their first jet aeroplane. They've got a robot that can run and dance (the engineers helpfully showed us a video) and now they're working on a home central heating system that will reduce CO2 emissions by 30 per cent. Their solar panel department is also forging ahead.

Honda's latest innovation is something called the Brain Machine Interface. It decodes your brain activity and uses your brain waves to operate robotic limbs. Currently there's a seven second gap between your thought impulse and any actual movement, but they're working on it...

Now guys, how about working out why no-one buys the Legend?
