Rolls-Royce’s head of design, Giles Taylor, has resigned from the company, with his successor yet to be announced by the Goodwood-based car manufacturer.
Taylor had been head of design at the BMW-owned brand since 2012. Rolls-Royce said that he had departed to “pursue alternative business interests”.
Taylor joined Rolls-Royce in 2011 as head of exterior design, having moved from the position of chief designer at Jaguar where he served for 14 years. Between 1992 and 1997 he worked a designer for Peugeot and Citroën.
During his tenure at the helm of Rolls-Royce design he ushered in the brand's new identity, with the advent of the new Rolls-Royce Phantom and Cullinan marking a change in styling direction.
In a statement Rolls-Royce said it will announce Taylor’s successor in due course.
