Desperate buyers in the US are bidding up to $42,000 (£26,000) for early delivery of a new Bentley Continental GT.
Those with confirmed orders, including independent dealers, are selling their buying ‘slots’ on eBay. Successful bidders can still choose the colour and spec, but will have to pay for their slot on top of the $149k (£88k) list price.
And they still have to wait until autumn ’04 for delivery.
