The Corvette C6 is getting a range of revisions for the 2008 model year; chief among them a brand new engine.Out goes the old car’s 398bhp 6.0-litre V8, to be replaced with a new 6.2-litre V8 that produces 424bhp and 424lb ft. Go for the optional ‘two-mode’ sports exhaust and you get 430bhp.There’s also a tweaked six-speed manual gearbox – Corvette claims it is smoother-shifting – and quicker shift times for the optional paddle-shift automatic. Corvette also says that the steering has improved feel, though we’ll have to wait until the revised car arrives in the UK at the end of the year to find out for sure.There are some cosmetic tweaks, too, with a new design of alloy wheel, improved interior plastics and the option of new trims including aluminium flashes.
