Stefan Weckbach takes over from Michael Scheibe at AMG, having led the roll-out of Porsche's EVs

Mercedes-AMG has named Stefan Weckbach, a key figure in bringing Porsche's first electric car to production, as its new CEO.

Weckbach will take over on 1 July next year from Michael Schiebe, who is taking on a new role leading Mercedes' production, quality and supply chain management operations.

Like Schieber, Weckbach will also assume control of Mercedes' Top End Vehicle Group, which includes the Maybach ultra-luxury brand and the growing G-Class 4x4 sub-brand.
