Jaguar gives smallest car an update and a much-needed diesel auto

A 2.2-litre diesel auto will be the centrepiece of Jaguar’s revised X-type range, on sale in spring 2008. The facelifted entry-level Jag will feature beefed-up bumpers and a revised grille that brings the car closer in looks to the revised XJ. The revised X-type will make its debut at the Tokyo motor show in October. Before the revised model hits dealers, Jaguar will tweak the spec on today’s X-type. The highlight is a new Collection pack, a body-kitted X-type priced at £21,500 for both four-door and estate models. That represents a saving of up to £1400.
