Nissan has revealed details of its electric-powered Pivo 2 concept car ahead of the public unveiling at Tokyo later this month. The Pivo 2 is powered by lithium-ion batteries that produce zero emissions, and the steering and braking are also electronically controlled. Despite the environmental statement being made, it's actually the concept's design that makes it a show-stopper.The Pivo 2 is the successor to the original Pivo concept that Nissan unveiled at Tokyo 2005, which demonstrated a cabin that could rotate 360 degrees and had screens fitted to each structural pillar allowing the driver to view what was on the other side of it – thereby giving 360 degree vision, too. This technology is advanced in the Pivo 2 with wheels that can turn 90 degrees and drive the car sideways, and a 'Robotic Agent' that converses with the driver to reduce the stress of driving. The robot can tell you everything from where the nearest parking is to the mechanical status of the car.We only hope it doesn't tell you how many people are pointing and laughing at you, as well.
