British supercar specialist McLaren Automotive has developed an extra-special, limited-volume, track-ready version of the highly-rated 720S as the latest installment in its 'longtail' series of hardcore driver's cars.

The 765LT gets lightweight panels, shorter gearing, engine and suspension overhauls and special aerodynamic features. It's road-legal - but we'd be missing a trick if we didn't test one on a circuit. So that's what we did.

Join Matt Saunders at Silverstone's International circuit for a first taste of the latest 'longtail' special.

Pretty much perfect.  I think I love it more even than the Senna.  It's just so sexy.
