394bhp, four-wheel drive, race-bred aero

This is the first look at the Volvo C30 Performance Concept Prototype, which has been developed by the firm's championship-winning Swedish Touring Car Team, Polestar Performance.

Developing 394bhp and featuring a four-wheel drive system and race-developed aerodynamics, the car was designed to be the ultimate performance version of the C30.

The C30 Performance Concept Prototype will be at the Gothenburg motor show between 22-25 April, where Polestar is also unveiling a range of performance enhancements for D5-engined Volvo cars.

The Polestar engine software kit costs £640 and adds 20bhp and 37lb ft of torque. It's available on the XC90, S80, V70, XC70, XC60 and outgoing S60.
