Toyota has announced prices and specifications for the all-new Avensis, which is due to hit UK showrooms on 1 January 2009.
Prices range from £15,670 for a 145bhp 1.8-litre saloon in base T2 spec, rising to £24,570 for the most potent 175bhp 2.2-litre turbodiesel estate in T Spirit trim.
The estate version commands a premium of £980 over its saloon counterpart. A new CVT transmission, labelled Multitronic S and also priced £980, is available for petrol-engined Avensis models.
A conventional six-speed automatic will be available on diesel-engined models towards the end of 2009.
Both the saloon and estate version of the third-generation Toyota Avensis will be available from launch.
