Full car will be unveiled at the Detroit motor show later today
10 January 2010

These are the first teaser pictures of an all-new Toyota hybrid vehicle that will be unveiled at the Detroit motor show later today.

Toyota issued two teaser pictures and a brief statement saying a "dedicated hybrid concept vehicle" will be unveiled in Detroit, but gave no further details.

Speculation suggests the car will either be a Prius variant - possibly a sportier coupe model, or a larger estate - or a small IQ-sized city car.
Speculation suggests the car will be a Prius variant or an estate...
Yet the photographs look far more like a small city car. IQ/Aygo sized based on the length on the bonnet, placement of lights, the very small overhang and short wings...

The proportions don't look right for anything bigger than an iQ size car, far too small for a Prius variant.

Ordinary bloke - They've changed the article, now we look stupid don't we :) (that or we have started the speculation it could be a small car!)

Sorry. You'll never believe me, but the iQ line was in the original story but was wiped out by a bit of errant saving in the cms. Whatever you believe, I'd have to say your line of thinking looks most likely...
