Latest teaser image issued - more details later this week

Citroen has released a new picture of its DS4 crossover.

The car will be mechanically related to the C4, but even further distanced from its counterpart than the DS3 is from the C3.

The DS4 is inspired by the C-Sportlounge concept, and will have a high-riding crossover feel.

The C-Sportlounge, which was revealed in 2005, was an egg-shaped coupe/MPV hybrid, which also influenced the styling of the latest C4 Picasso. A sporty 2+2, it was described by designer Mark Lloyd as "a GT for the modern age".

Such a model would supplement the continuing C4 hatchbacks and Picasso – as well as giving Citroen a rival for the likes of the Nissan Qashqai and Peugeot 3008.

The car is expected to be shown in full within the next few days.

Quite. And......

WTF?

Hi-Res? For this pic it has the same effect as a 316i with an M3 badge pasted on it. In green.

Wow I didn't realise this would be shown so quickly! Mind you, it's a whole year since they showed us the DS Inside concept. Perhaps this will be a concept for Geneva, or the full production model? Exciting...

It is certainly revealing...

I love the checker plate finish on the windows, why don't other manufacturers try something different with windows? Mind I can't help thinking there may be a recall if they really went through with them.

It appears to have a very large, 'gaping' front grille, I'd hoped that they might be going out of fashion soon.

Liking it even more now. Really looking forward to the full reveal... I think this could look brilliant. Looks slightly three-door-ish from that picture... wonder if it'll have 5 in reality? Hidden door handle type thing? Hmm...
