Top car leasing deals and new car discounts for this week, including offers on the Ford B-Max, Nissan Qashqai, Seat Toledo and Jaguar XJ

If you're in the market for a new car before Christmas, now is a good time to buy as dealers roll out their year-end offers to encourage you into their showrooms.

That means discounts and special offers are in abundance, whether they're for spacious people-movers such as the Ford B-Max, or for the last word in luxury grand touring in the form of the Jaguar XJ. Whatever your budget and tastes, there are deals to be found if you've done your research.

With that in mind, here are some of the best new car deals and the best new car leasing deals we found this week.

Best new car deals

With competition in the MPV sector continuing to drive vehicle development forward at a ferocious pace, customers can cash in on the multitude of offers available in this sector. The Ford B-Max sits at the top of our compact MPV league table, and New Car Discount is currently offering a saving of £5250 on 1.0-litre EcoBoost models in high-spec Titanium trim. That means the £17,600 list price is reduced to £12,346.

The Seat Toledo has always made a good case for itself as a no-nonsense family car, having been re-launched at the Paris motor show in 2012. Offers are easy to come by on the stylish hatchback/saloon, and Arnold Clark is currently selling '63 plate models, including this 1.4-litre TSI SE DSG model which is going for £13,995. That's a saving of £3790 on the £17,785 list price.

Best new car leasing deals

With an all-new Nissan Qashqai due to be launched on 7 November, plenty of dealers and leasing companies are offering last-minute discounts on the outgoing model. On Fleet Prices we found a 1.6-litre Acenta model for £231.84 over a two-year contract, with an initial payment of £695.52 and an annual mileage limit of 10,000.

If you're not planning on covering many miles, then this lease deal for an Audi A3 1.4-litre TFSI Sport from National Vehicle Solutions may be worth considering. There's a monthly price of £203.16 over three years and an initial deposit of £1218 with an annual mileage limit of 5000.

Deal of the week

With an updated Jaguar XJ being seen at the Frankfurt motor show ready for the 2014 model year, dealers are falling over themselves to offer huge discounts on the outgoing model of the luxury saloon. Car-cost.com is currently offering over £13,000 off the £76,436 list price of a 3.0 V6 Supercharged model in Portfolio trim - bringing the total down to £63,158.
