The Bugatti Chiron, successor to the Bugatti Veyron, has made its UK dynamic debut at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed.
In March it was unveiled at the Geneva motor show, but this is the first time the supercar has been seen in action in the UK
The Chiron is taking part in the Michelin Supercar Run and will up the hill every day of this year’s annual event.
Named after Monegasque racing driver Louis Chiron, the Chiron has a power output of 1479bhp, can produce torque of 1180lb ft between 2,000-6,000rpm and has a top speed of 261mph.
The four-turbo, 16-cylinder engine sends drive to all four wheels via a seven-speed DSG gearbox and can demolish the 0-62mph dash in less than 2.5sec.
Bugatti’s Veyron currently holds the world production car speed record at 268mph, but it is believed that the Chiron is in a strong position to be able to top this.
With first customer deliveries later this year, the car’s production is limited to just 500 units. More than 200 advance orders have already been placed by eager customers, despite the €2.4 million (£1.9m) price tag.
