Mercedes GLK spotted in Germany, due on sale in 2015, will be sold in the UK for the first time

These latest spy shots show the new Mercedes-Benz GLK testing in Germany.

The model is due to go on sale in 2015, and has been engineered in right-hand drive format so will be available in the UK for the first time.

Already spotted testing in the US, the GLK shares its platform with the new C-class. The all-new C-class will make its debut at the Detroit motor show next year.

This latest test mule looks to be riding much lower than previously seen models, and is noticably longer than the current GLK - suggesting Mercedes is looking to maximise interior space inside the cabin.

Mercedes is planning to bring in eight new SUVs in the coming years, of which the GLK and the new GLA are two. The brand will also look to produce a new supermini-based SUV, and BMW X5 and Range Rover rivals as well as replacements for the current ML, GL and Mercedes-Benz G-Class models.
