TVR stays put - for now

TVR’s planned move is off. The Blackpool manufacturer has ditched plans to leave its current Bispham factory, where the lease was due to run out this month.

The relocation has been dropped at the last minute because TVR has decided its would-be home, Squires Gate, was unfit on health and safety grounds.

David Oxley, managing director of the firm, said everyone there was ‘hugely frustrated that we could not go ahead with the move’, but that the safety of its workers was ‘paramount’.

2008 will see the manufacturer move into its permanent new home in Blackpool’s business park.
