The Mazda MX-5, Volkswagen Golf GTI and Honda NSX are the current top three contenders for the crown
28 March 2017

There’s less than one week left to vote for your winner of Autocar’s Readers’ Champion award to nominate the car you think has had the biggest impact on the world.

Of the 39 cars up for the award, the Mazda MX-5 and Volkswagen Golf GTI have received most votes, with the Honda NSX coming in third. But we’re expecting an influx of votes across these last few days, so there could still be a dramatic change in rankings.

“Clearly, any of these three cars can stake a claim to being the most revolutionary ever produced, but there are still plenty of other cars in our shortlist in with a chance,” said editor Mark Tisshaw. “With models like the Citroën DS, Mercedes-Benz 300SL and Morris Mini Minor in the running, the finishing order is far from clear.”

Once voting has closed, the results will be compiled and announced on the 23 May at the Autocar Awards. You can join us on the night, which will be held at Silverstone’s iconic Wing Complex from 6.30pm. Tickets are on sale now at
