Citroën has announced the Série Noire edition for the DS3 and C5 featuring matte black exterior

Citroën has announced special edition versions of its DS3 and C5 models, which will be shown at the Geneva motor show next week.

Dubbed 'Série Noire' by the company, the Citroën DS3 special is based on either the DS3 THP 150 or HDi 110 and features matte black exterior with gloss black roof, 17-inch black alloys, chrome wing mirrors and rubbing strips on both doors. On the inside, the Série Noire DS3 includes leather seats and dashboard trim, with its door handles and gear knob finished in black gloss. Standard kit includes sat-nav.

The larger C5 'Série Noire' is based on the standard car’s Exclusive + trim and adds matte black paint, 19-inch matte grey alloys and chrome door mirrors. Interior features include leather and ‘microfibre fabric roof lining.’

The special C5 will be available with the HDi 200 or V6 HDi 240 engines mated to a six-speed automatic gearbox.

Prices for the DS3 Série Noire will start from 24,750 Euros (£21,000) and be limited to 750 units, with the C5 variant costing from an impressive 44,600 Euros (£40,000) when they go on sale in Europe.

According to Citroën, they are not planned for the UK.
