Best new car deals

With up to 1372 litres of space available, Vauxhall's Mokka offers genuine practicality in a small body. We spotted a 1.7-litre CDTi model in SE trim level for just £17,678 on Buyacar - that's £5576 less than the RRP.

Mercedes' ML-class model sits firmly in third position on our list of the top sports SUVs, losing out only to the Range Rover Sport and Porsche Cayenne. We spotted a brand new CDi BlueTEC model in SE trim going for just £39,213 on Car-cost. That is a saving of £5232 from the list price.

Best new car leasing deals

The BMW 4-series is a more athletic, sporting choice than the staple 3-series saloon. Diamond Contract Hire is offering a BMW 420d model in SE trim level for £420 per month for three years. The annual allowed miles are 8000 and the initial payment is £2516.

The Mercedes-Benz A-Class combines expected levels of Mercedes-Benz luxury with a frugal range of engines, and in as such is one of our most-liked premium hatchbacks. Blue Chilli Cars is currently offering an A200 CDI AMG Sport model for £257 per month. That's after a deposit of £2321 and on a four-year contract. There's also an annual mileage limit of 10,000.

Deal of the week

This week’s top deal comes from UK Car Discount. It's offering a stylish Citroën C5 2.0-litre HDI 16V Auto Exclusive model for £19,995 - a whopping £7,005 less than the RRP. As an alternative choice to class staples like the Ford Mondeo and Volkswagen Passat, the C5 is an interesting choice.
