Vauxhall announced limited edition models of the Astra, Corsa and Insignia, while Honda starts sales of its Vezel SUV in Japan

Vauxhall has launched a new range of 'Limited Edition' models with higher specifications as standard. Available on the Vauxhall Astra, Insignia and Vauxhall Corsa, additions include bi-colour alloy wheels, VXR styling kits and Bluetooth connectivity, with some models also gaining tinted glass and sports seats. Boris Johnson has been one of the first to drive a new range-extended electric London taxi, at its City Hall unveiling yesterday. Honda will start sales of the Vezel SUV in Japan tomorrow. The car, which was revealed at the Tokyo motor show last month, will go on sale in both petrol and hybrid variants in Japan, with European sales set to get underway in 2015. The model may not retain the Vezel name for European markets.

Audi has confirmed that its design boss, Wolfgang Egger, will move to Italdesign Giugiaro in February. Egger, who was appointed design chief at Audi in 2007, is succeeded at the firm by Marc Lichte, who is currently in charge of exterior design at Volkswagen. The move was widely speculated earlier this month.

Twisted is moving to a larger premises, which will enable it to triple its production output. The company, which produces modified Land Rover Defenders, will be able to increase its current output of 100 cars per year to 300 by 2016. Twisted has confirmed it will continue building the cars, even after the Defender is retired officially in 2015.
