Korean maker sells 4m cars last year to become fifth largest manufacturer

Hyundai-Kia is now the world's fifth largest car manufacturer, outselling Chrysler and Nissan with 3,961,629 cars sold last year.The Korean automotive giant has jumped six places in eight years it was ranked as the world's eleventh largest maker in 1999. Agressive factory expansions across the world ­ the firm now builds cars in the United States, China, India, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Russia and Brazil and huge improvements in the quality of its cars have helped to push it into the top five.
