The facelifted Toyota Yaris has gone on sale, with prices starting from £10,995. Order books for the updated hatchback have opened today, with first deliveries getting under way in August.
Adopting some of the design themes from the new Toyota Aygo - such as its cross-faced front-end design - Toyota is promising improved driving dynamics and a revised suspension setup for the upgraded car. Its engine line-up is carried over from the current Yaris, meaning a range of 1.0- and 1.33-litre petrols alongside a 1.4-litre diesel and 1.5-litre hybrid.
The big change in the Yaris range comes with its specification, which sees the current Active and Icon trim levels joined by new Sport and Excel models.
Entry-level Active models come with powered front windows, and an audio system with USB and auxiliary connections, while Icon trim adds 15-inch alloy wheels, a rear-view camera, air conditioning, Toyota's infotainment system and Bluetooth connectivity. Higher-spec Sport versions get 16-inch alloys, LED daytime running lights, a DAB radio and rear privacy glass, while top-spec Excel trim adds cruise control, climate control and automatic headlights and wipers.
The range starts at £10,995 for a three-door 1.0-litre model in Active specification, rising to £17,695 for a 1.5-litre Hybrid in Excel trim.
