A long-wheelbase version of the Range Rover Hybrid has made its debut at the Beijing motor show.
Land Rover says the model, which is the first diesel-electric hybrid to go on sale in China, offers "an unprecedented combination of premium luxury, interior space and exceptional fuel and emissions performance".
Power for the Range Rover Hybrid comes from the firm's 3.0-litre SDV6 engine combined with an electric motor, which adds 47bhp and 125lb ft of torque to create overall outputs of 345bhp and 516lb ft. Land Rover says the model is capable of returning 44.1mpg, with CO2 emissions of 169g/km.
Coupled to an eight-speed automatic transmission, drivers can select from different driving modes to maximise efficiency or performance. The model can travel in electric-only mode at speeds of up to 30mph for one mile.
This long-wheelbase version comes with an extra 186mm of room inside, something Land Rover expects to go down well with customers in China.
The LWB version will be sold alongside the regular Range Rover Hybrid in China from May. The country is one of JLR's key markets, and the firm says it expects premium hybrid models to sell well in the region.
