Renault's Dacia Logan joins the workforce with bargain van

Not content with only making Europe's cheapest new car, Renault's budget brand Dacia this week launches an assault on the commmercial vehicle market with the imaginatively named Logan Van.

Based on the Logan estate, this new workhorse will be built in Romania and sold exclusively there and in Bulgaria to begin with. It will offer buyers two-and-a-half cubic metres of cargo space and a 1936mm load bay, and it'll cost just 6700 Euros - the equivalent of just over £4000 – complete with two airbags and ABS as standard.

Renault still has no plans to import it to the UK, but it's interesting to note that here, the long-wheelbase Ford Transit Connect (a van with very similar dimensions) starts at £12,470.
