Impressions of the new Renault Laguna coupe

From Chas Hallett in Frankfurt

I don’t much care for the way the new Laguna looks. I think that the new Twingo is too dull looking too. But just before I write off Renault’s new designs they go and unveil the Laguna coupe concept. I’ve just seen it on the motorshow stand. Blimey it looks great in the metal. Brilliant proportion, menacing and yet pretty at the same time. And with those rear tail lights you even start to think Aston Martin. Honestly and I haven’t touched a drop of the car maker’s free booze either. Best of all it’s going to go on sale in late 2008 virtually unchanged. The only question is whether we’ll stomach a big French coupe. But if it looks this good, I’ll be willing to bet that you’d think about it.
