Crossover concept will be turned into a real car within three years with V6 power

Suzuki’s just unveiled this Kizashi 2 concept, essentially a crossover version of the Kizashi saloon shown at last month's Frankfurt show.Although clearly still a show car, Kizashi 2 will spawn a production crossover that will go on sale in 2010.There will also be an estate version and a saloon which we'll see a year earlier. All versions will have less radical looks than the concepts however, especially the front-end treatment.Kizashi 2 has been designed with the American market in mind, so the concept has a newly developed 3.6-litre V6, mated to a six-speed auto ’box. Suzuki also indicated that it is developing a hybrid system for the final production car.European versions are likely to be powered either by Suzuki's own 2.4-litre petrol engine or by one of the company's next-generation diesels that will be Fiat-designed but made by the Japanese in India.
