Specialist Porsche tuner RUF has revealed this new Roadster inspired by the classic 1967 Porsche 911 Targa.
The RUF Roadster’s retro-inspired features include a two-piece removable roof made from carbonfibre, a roll bar and a canvas rear section with a three-layer polyglass window.

It is available with either a 395bhp six-cylinder flat-six engine or a 552bhp turbocharged version of the same unit. The Roadster comes with a six-speed manual gearbox as standard, with a dual-clutch gearbox optional alongside four-wheel drive.
The Roadster will cost from 195,000 Euros (£170,500), plus local taxes, when it goes on sale next year. The firm has also confirmed a limited production of all-electric eRUF 911-based sports cars.

Even Porsche themselves gave up on this bodystyle, the flexi rear window style only lasted a few years anyway didn't it. Still a fool and his money and all that...

i can understand where they're coming from, but i can't say i like it. There is a reason Porsche doesn't do this style any more - it doesn't work at all on the elongated lines of the new 911s.
