Qualifying has already produced headlines at Pikes Peak, here's our full gallery from the event so far

The 91st Pikes Peak hillclimb is well underway, with the last few competitors running their qualifying times up the special hill stage.

Peugeot has already set a ferocious pace, with Frenchman and nine-time WRC winner Sébastian Loeb setting a blistering 3min 26.728second time over the 5.1-mile course.

No competitor will get to try out the full 12.42-mile course until the hillclimb gets underway on Sunday. Loeb and his closest rival, Romain Dumas, are both competing in the Unlimited race class – but hundreds of other cars are spread across other classes — including open wheel, stock car and the electric car class.

Autocar will be reporting from the event throughout the weekend, so stay tuned for the latest from Pikes Peak.

You can also watch short videos of several of the competitors on Autocar's YouTube channel.
