Audi has revealed a new range of Ultra models that focus on efficiency and power, including an Audi A6 with 187bhp and 64.2mpg. The A6 2.0 TDI Ultra, priced from £32,515, has CO2 emissions of just 114g/km of CO2. Ultra A4s, A5 coupés and A5 Sportbacks will follow.
The Vauxhall Astra is the latest model to get the company's new 1.6-litre diesel engine It will be offered in 108bhp and 134bhp outputs, capable of averaging 76.3mpg and 72.4mpg respectively. CO2 emissions are as low as 97g/km. The new engine is coupled to a six-speed manual with an improved shift quality.
Mercedes has expanded its Mercedes-Benz S-Class range with three new powertrains - a 2.1-litre four-cylinder diesel-electric hybrid and two V12s. The new £72,260 S300 Bluetec Hybrid L AMG Line averages 61.4mpg and emits 120g/km of CO2. The new twin-turbocharged 6.0-litre V12s comprise the £139,960, 523bhp S600 L AMG Line and the £179,960, 621bhp S65 AMG L.
