Toyota's US sales director makes bold prediction

Prius will become an even bigger nameplate in the US than Camry, according to Toyota's US sales director Jim Lentz.

Speaking after the unveiling of the sporty FT-CH concept, which could be used as a starting point for the long-rumoured Toyota Prius coupe to rival Honda’s upcoming CR-Z, Lentz said: “We're developing a Prius family to take advantage of the Prius brand.

“There are more models planned and FT-CH is a concept that we are considering. I think in the future the number one nameplate in the US will be Prius, not Camry."
