Infiniti has confirmed an Infiniti Performance Line (IPL) G convertible will be added to its line-up in the spring of 2012.

The IPL G convertible concept was on display at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, almost one year after it made its debut at the 2010 Paris motor show.

It features an IPL-tuned 343bhp V6 engine, plus revised exhaust and suspension systems. The interior features red leather set against the black exterior. The IPL G convertible will also have a three-piece retractable hard-top and 19-inch IPL alloy wheels.

The IPL G convertible is based of the foundation of the Infiniti G37 convertible. The production version will make its debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show in November.

Speaking at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, Infiniti Americas vice president Ben Poore said, “ Like every Infiniti, the new IPL G Convertible will take a different path from its established competitors. It’s a terrific addition to the Infiniti Performance Line, taking the dramatic Infiniti G convertible to an even higher level.”
