These have been on autotrader for a while now.

They look suspiciously like Izuzu Denver Rodeos.

I was surprised to note recently that the dealer across the road from me, previously a Hyundai/Proton franchise, is now a Proton, SsangYong, Perodua and... Great Wall franchise. I haven't noticed any Steeds gracing his forecourt as yet but he does have 4 on his stock list.

It may well be "£xxxx less than a L200/Amarok/Ranger/Navara" but I'll bet any of those four will be worth "£xxxx more at trade-in" and be a damned sight more robust/better quality.

Still, I'll be interested to see how many (if any) appear on roads around here - I've noticed a surprising number of 12-plate Perodua Myvis (another rebadge of the Daihatsu Sirion/ Subaru Justy - and the only version of the three still available) locally, thanks in no small part to this dealer no doubt.

What's the point of a Chinese vehicle made in Bulgaria ? If they made it in China they could maybe sell it for 7k and it would make some sense.

I've seen a few of these on Autotrader and they seem like great value.

There is one Chinese company whose large utility model looks exactly like a Ford F-150.

Funny, that.

[/quote] I thought the same to be honest. I am not a fan, but for a small company looking for a new pick up this offers good value for money. I have to laugh at the name 'steed', makes me smile every time I see it.

The Chinese will follow the usual formula import cheap and cheerful to start with and then up the quality and price over the decades.

It worked for South Korea.
