Pictures have been released of the new Fiat Fiat 500 Abarth esseesse ahead of its unveiling at the Paris Motor Show. The esseesse will be the hottest version of the new 500 (for now, at least), featuring a full body kit, tweaked suspension, an uprated engine and bigger wheels.
According to a source inside Fiat, although the final power output is still to be confirmed “we expect the turbocharged 1.4-litre engine to develop around 160bhp”.
As you can see from these pictures the esseesse is far more aggressively styled than its 500 Abarth sister featuring larger unique alloy wheels and a redesigned rear bumper, complete with integrated air diffuser. The side skirts have also been lowered slightly.
The ultimate 500 will reach UK Abarth dealers by late January. Prices have yet to be finalised, but Fiat charges a £3500 supplement for the Grande Punto Abarth esseesse over the standard Abarth, so don’t expect to get much change from £16,000.
