Prices for the Chevrolet Cruze Station Wagon will start at £15,375 and peak at £19,785. Five variants of the estate will be introduced alongside the existing Cruze saloon and hatch, reaching showrooms in the autumn.

The Chevrolet Cruze Station Wagon will be available in three trim levels and with three engines.

The entry-level LS comes with a 1.6-litre petrol engine, aircon, follow-me-home headlamps, heated and adjustable door mirrors, front electric windows, roof rails, rear and boot power sockets, cargo restraint hooks, remote central door locking, electronic boot release, ESC and traction control. It is this model that will go on sale for £15,375.

The mid-level LT trim adds cruise control, electric rear windows, rear parking sensors, front fog lamps, 16-inch alloys and a leather steering wheel and gear knob. It will retail for £16,475 with the 1.6-litre, £18,075 with a 1.8-litre and automatic transmission and £18,925 with a 1.7-litre diesel that produces 119g/km of C02 emissions.

For £19,785, the top-of-the-range LTZ NAV gets satnav, Bluetooth, 17-inch alloys, electronic climate control, rear parking sensors and rear view camera, and a seven-inch colour display screen. It is only available with the 1.7-litre diesel and a six-speed manual gearbox.

The Chevrolet Cruze Station Wagon, which offers up to 1478 litres of load space, is the final addition to the Cruze range.

I really like this. It looks boring, but in a simplistic, robust kind of way. It somehow doesn't look as cheap as its 4/5 door counterparts. It ought to make for a pleasant - if a slightly dull - family workhorse.

How Much?

Seems expensive when my local dealer has new hatch versions advertised from £10,995. Wonder how much it'll actually sell for?

Nice looking car, too.
