The top car leasing deals and new car discounts for this week, including offers on the Toyota Auris, Audi A6 Allroad, Nissan Note and Ford Mondeo

The first winter frosts are already putting a strain on older cars, with garages and dealerships expected to report an upturn in repair business as batteries and alternators fail in the cold weather.

What better way to beat the winter blues, then, than with a new car? Enticing deals are abundant as dealers try and get you into the showrooms. Saving money is no hassle, either, providing you know which cars to aim for and which offers to try. With that in mind, here are some of the best new car deals and the best new car-leasing deals for this week.

Best new car deals

The Toyota Auris is a spacious hybrid hatchback with very low headline running costs. We found a range-topping 1.8-litre VVTi hybrid, in Excel trim - which adds leather, sat-nav and other extras for £20,706 on UK Car Discount, a saving of £4389 on the list price.

The Audi A6 Allroad impresses in almost every specification, and we found a good deal on the 3.0-litre TDI version, in quattro trim, on Drive The Deal for £39,675. It's spec'd to the rafters with plenty of optional equipment, making a saving of £11,930 from the £51,605 list price.

Best new car leasing deals

The new Nissan Note offers a more spacious alternative to established class favourites like the Ford Fiesta. We found a great introductory offer from National Vehicle Solutions for an entry-level 1.2-litre model in Visia spec for £140.64 per month. That's on a three-year contract with an initial rental charge of £421.92, plus there's an annual 10,000-mile limit.

If you're looking for a budget motor and only cover a few thousand miles per year, you could do a lot worse than this offer on the Citroën C1 1.0-litre VTR we found from Lease99. The offer is for £51.60 per month over a two-year contract, with an initial deposit of £1806.79. There's a limit of 5000 miles per year, however.

Deal of the week

With a replacement model on the way for 2015, offers on the outgoing Ford Mondeo are easy to come by as dealers try to get rid of their stock. This range-topping Titanium X Sport estate, powered by a 2.0-litre TDCi engine, is going for £21,586 on New Car Discount, a saving of £7,120 on the list price.

These are just a selection of the best deals we found this week. If you find better, let us know by registering for the site and posting below.

The Ford Mondeo is a fine car in most areas. The family hatch is still a class leader even as its replacement nears
