MyCar is a compact competitor to the G-Wiz: 40 mile range, £9K

We’ve got details and pictures of another new all-electric car. Called the MyCar, it has been designed by Giugaro and will make its debut at the British Motor Show tomorrow. The rising cost of fuel and road tax are anticipated to trigger a strong rise in the demand for all-electric vehicles like the MyCar. It will be sold by the Nice Car Company and has a claimed 40 mile range. With looks that can best be described as a closed body golf cart, the MyCar takes between six and eight hours to charge fully and has a top speed of 40mph. It will cost £8,995, with standard equipment including satnav and Bluetooth. Like other electric vehicles the MyCar will be exempt from the congestion charge, but owners in London will have to fork out for parking in certain parts of the capital soon, as the previous exemption from parking charges for electric vehicles is being abolished.

People, the bloody electricity has to come from somewhere. It means that instead of your car producing the pollutants some power station does it instead. Electric cars are a total waste of time.

This is getting uncanny, we agree yet again and your comment about pollutants from power stations is one I made some months ago on another blog on this site, and at the time I remember getting shouted down.

Keep up the good work James.

haha to previous comments. true, true..........

8 hrs to top up, 40 miles range, two major hurdles for me at least. Would run out 1/3 of the way into the day.

I know a motorbike does this already, but why can't anybody make a decent one person car.......?
