We look ahead to the event which helped launch Jenson Button's career
16 October 2009

The Formula Ford Festival takes place at Brands Hatch this weekend, with competitors looking to emulate Jenson Button, who launched his career with victory in the blue riband event.

While Button is competing to win the Formula One world championship in Brazil, competitors in the Festival will be vying for a shot at stardom - victory or a starring drive in the Festival has long helped drivers attract interest from major teams and sponsors.

Button's not the only winner to have gone on to compete in F1 - past victors include Mark Webber, Anthony Davidson, Johnny Herbert, Eddie Irvine, Julian Bailey and Jan Magnussen.

Come back to Autocar on Monday, when we will bring you a hi-res gallery and report of this year’s event.
