Only 100 of the super-luxury model will be made
24 July 2009

Range Rover specialist Overfinch and sporting gun maker Holland & Holland have teamed up to make “the ultimate luxury off-roader”.

The Holland & Holland Range Rover by Overfinch will officially be unveiled at the Holland & Holland shooting grounds on 23 September. Only 100 will be made and the special-edition model will be based on either the 2010 503bhp supercharged model or TDV8 Range Rover Autobiography.

The pair have worked together to “create an all purpose, all season, luxury supercar for the discerning few”, according to a statement.

“Designers and engineers at both Holland & Holland and Overfinch have worked together to create a car that embodies Holland & Holland’s unique sporting heritage and Overfinch’s bespoke craftsmanship. The result is a quintessentially English take on luxury.”

Daryl Greatrex, managing director of Holland & Holland, said, “It’s 10 years since we had a Holland & Holland Range Rover and we decided that working with Overfinch was the only way to do it this time. Over the years it has become clear that what AMG is to Mercedes and Alpina is to BMW, so Overfinch is to Range Rover.”

Neil Underwood, chief operating officer of Overfinch, said, “We have worked closely with designers, engineers and the quite astonishing craftsmen of Holland & Holland, who have helped us create the most exclusive, most luxurious off-roader ever built.”

No details on the car itself, or a price tag, have been announced at this stage.

Our Verdict

The fourth-generation Range Rover is here to be judged as a luxury car as much as it is a 4x4
