Abu Dhabi police to patrol in 478bhp supercar

Abu Dhabi's police force has unveiled its latest weapon in the fight against crime - a Nissan GT-R.

The car, painted in the colours of the United Arab Emirates' flag, is entirely standard apart from the addition of a siren system.

That means 478bhp at 6400rpm, 434lb ft of torque at 3200 rpm and a 0-60mph time of 3.8sec.

"is entirely standard apart from the addition of a siren system"

It will be useless in catching the UAE's equivalent boy racers if it hasn't been deristricted from its 'road top speed'. The car's brain knows when it's on the road/race track and limits the top speed accordingly.

"Police force gets Nissan GT-R" reads the headline. Which one I thought? The Met? Manchester? No - Abu Dhabi! Imagine my disappointment - I thought they'd have been running Police Enzos or Police Veyrons over there. Pah!
