Currently reading: No ban for speed camera detectors

Speed camera detectors have been given a stay of execution after the government’s Road Safety Bill ran out of time when the UK’s parliament dissolved ahead of the general election. The bill banning the devices would also have meant graduated penalties for speeding offences and the additional penalty of three licence points for driving while using a mobile phone.

‘Much of the bill was actually likely to make road safety worse’ said Paul Smith of Safespeed.org.uk.
