General Motors reveals new city car for US, Europe and India

Chevrolet has unveiled the production version of its Spark city car at the Geneva show.

In its final production form, the Chevrolet Spark has been toned down from the chunky concept displayed at the Detroit show in January, but the chunky, angular styling and bold grille and headlights have been carried over unchanged.

The Chevrolet Spark’s rear door handles are also artfully hidden in the C-pillar, in the style of the Alfa Romeo 147.

The Spark, which is due to go on sale in the US, Europe and India, is powered by either a 1.0-litre three-cylinder motor or a 1.2-litre four cylinder, both of which run on petrol. There is no word as yet on whether the 1.3 CDTi diesel from the Vauxhall Corsa will find its way into the Chevrolet Spark.

The Spark goes on sale in the UK later this year.
