Facelifted Mercedes CL63 AMG and CL65 AMG unveiled in Paris

Mercedes has unveiled its facelifted CL63 AMG and CL65 AMG models at the Paris motor show.

They feature more aggressive styling than the rest of the range, which has also been facelifted.

The CL63 AMG rides on 19-inch alloys and gets new mesh trim at the front instead of the chrome used on the standard CL range. There are also more pronounced side skirts and a new exhaust tips at the rear.

The CL65 gets extra chrome trim over the CL63, both at the front and on the rear diffuser, as well as new exhaust pipes. It rides on 20-inch alloys.

New Mercedes CL revealed

The CL63 uses a new twin-turbo V8 with 536bhp and 590lb ft (or 563bhp and 663lb ft when configured with an optional performance package). It will come with a seven-speed multi-clutch transmission.

The CL65 retains the same twin-turbocharged 6.0-litre V12 engine as the existing model, with 603bhp and 737lb ft.

My neighbour had the old one, but chopped it in for a bog standard E class. Hard times I suppose.

I do not like the reverse lights at all... looks like a 1980's cadillac. Ewwwww.....

Yeah, its dirt cheap to create a high performance engine and handbuild it from scratch, and to fit a bespoke drivetrain including steering, suspension and brakes.

if you dont like the car then so what, there has always been,and always will be a (relatively) large worldwide market for these cars.
