2011 model year iQ will have new engines and interior styling changes

Toyota has revealed details about the 2011 model year iQ which will be unveiled at the Paris motor show.

There are revisions to the interior styling and engines.

Its 1.0-litre VVT-i and 1.33-litre dual VVT-i petrol units have been upgraded to meet the new Euro 5 emissions standards.

Toyota claims the changes have not affected the engines’ performance or fuel efficiency.

The 1.0-litre emits 99g/km of CO2 and returns 64.2mpg on the combined cycle, while the 1.33-litre with stop-start tech returns 113g/km and 57.6mpg.

The interior changes have been to “raise the quality factor and give customers more choice”.

They include the introduction of a new grey interior with contrasting black upper trims on the doors and toning fabric upholstery. Kuru black leather upholstery is available as an option.

This new cabin finish is available with Eclipse Black, Pearl White, Island Blue and Tyrol Silver exterior paint.

New soft-touch materials have been introduced and the “manta ray” motif panels on the door and centre console adopt a new black finish.

A scarlet surround has been added to the centre console, and the black leather steering wheel is trimmed with contrasting red stitching.

The current plum interior will still be offered with Deep Amethyst, Chilli Red and Decuma Grey exterior paint on the 2011 model.

The 2011 iQ is already on sale in the UK, priced from £10,158.

Re: Toyota unveils 2011 iQ

Will these detail improvements also be carried over to the Aston Martin version?
