The Porsche 918 Spyder has made its dynamic debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed today.
The hypercar, which rivals the LaFerrari and McLaren P1 – which has also made its dynamic debut at the event – will go on sale in September. Despite the launch date nearing, the car shown today does not feature the final styling iterations.
It will be offered in standard specification, priced at £682,000, or £745,000 with the Weissach Package which brings “extended use” of magnesium, titanium and ceramic parts.
Like the McLaren P1 and LaFerrari, the 918 Spyder will offer a 0-62mph in less than 3.0sec, and a top speed of more than 200mph. With a top speed of 202mph, the Porsche will be the slowest of the three, but it will also be the most efficient by some margin. Porsche claims CO2 emissions of 70g/km and 94.1mpg on the NEDC.
The Porsche 918 Spyder is powered by a 4.0-litre V8 and electric motors which develop a combined 795bhp and 575lb ft.
