Infiniti teases QX SUV concept car ahead of Beijing motor show debut; expected QX70 replacement

Infiniti has unveiled a teaser image of its new QX Sport Inspiration concept car, which will make its public appearance at the Beijing motor show later this month.

Infiniti says the QX design concept is its vision of a mid-size, premium SUV, making it a potential rival to the Porsche Cayenne and BMW BMW X5.

Infiniti couldn’t confirm whether the QX Sport would make it to production or come to the UK, but we expect it is an early indicator of the forthcoming QX70 replacement. The current QX70 was facelifted in 2015 with subtle design tweaks, having previously been called FX.

The QX Sport Inspiration has similar design cues to the Q60 concept that was announced at the Detroit motor show in 2015. A year later, Infiniti unveiled its production version of the Q60 coupé, which was almost identical to the concept.

The Audi A5 coupé-rivalling Q60 coupé is scheduled to go on sale this summer with a new 3.0-litre, twin-turbo V6 engine, producing around 296bhp.
