The fastest production Jaguar to lap the Nürburgring is confirmed for the UK market, with ten units being sold for £135,000 each

The most extreme road-legal Jaguar yet is set to go on sale in the UK.

The XKR-S GT is a track-focused but still road-legal version of the XKR-S coupé that had originally only been planned for sale in North America. But 10 units priced at £135,000 each are now destined for UK customers, in right-hand drive, on the back of strong demand.

The XKR-S GT uses the same 542bhp supercharged 5.0-litre V8 as the XKR-S, but the 0-60mph time is cut by 0.3sec to 3.9sec. Features over a standard XKR-S include a bespoke aerodynamic package with a rear diffuser and fixed rear wing, more focused suspension settings with race-derived active dampers, wider tracks, carbon-ceramic brakes, a new, quicker steering system and lightweight 20in alloys shod in high-performance tyres. 

Developed by Jaguar’s special Engineered To Order (ETO) division, the XKR-S GT is the fastest regular production Jaguar to lap the Nürburgring, with a time of 7min 40sec.

Hate the name

Too many variants! XK, XKR, XK-RS, and now XKR-S GT. The only point to this car is to make Jaguar every last profit from this ageing platform

And your point is, if people still buy them and they are making a profit, whats the problem, its not as if other car makers dont do it, how many final limited edition Veyrons have VAG made, how many different variations of the Gallardo or other Lambo have VAG made..

AAGH!

There are much better cars at a lot less money.it is only 1.2 seconds slower to 60 than a GTR,and only 0.2 sec faster than an A45AMG,and GBP35000 more than the new GT3 !! Are they kidding me!!

when the XK first appeared it

when the XK first appeared it was a good looking car, then they facelifted it, and it was slightly worse, and then they started adding more and more performance. And each time it gets worse to look at. The base cabriolet (headlights and appart) is still very pretty

Mighty impressive performance however.
