The fastest production Jaguar to lap the Nürburgring is confirmed for the UK market, with ten units being sold for £135,000 each

The most extreme road-legal Jaguar yet is set to go on sale in the UK.

The XKR-S GT is a track-focused but still road-legal version of the XKR-S coupé that had originally only been planned for sale in North America. But 10 units priced at £135,000 each are now destined for UK customers, in right-hand drive, on the back of strong demand.

The XKR-S GT uses the same 542bhp supercharged 5.0-litre V8 as the XKR-S, but the 0-60mph time is cut by 0.3sec to 3.9sec. Features over a standard XKR-S include a bespoke aerodynamic package with a rear diffuser and fixed rear wing, more focused suspension settings with race-derived active dampers, wider tracks, carbon-ceramic brakes, a new, quicker steering system and lightweight 20in alloys shod in high-performance tyres.

Developed by Jaguar’s special Engineered To Order (ETO) division, the XKR-S GT is the fastest regular production Jaguar to lap the Nürburgring, with a time of 7min 40sec.

I can think of other cars I'd buy with £135k.

You can get a used Mclaren MP4 for that money.

GT, does not mean bloated hatchback..

That's actually pretty fast.  Well played, Jag.

Other cars on 7.40 include the Murcielago LP640, the 911 997 GT3 Mk II, the MB SLS AMG and the SLR McLaren.  I know, they weren't all driven by the same person.  This info comes to you from someone who thinks Nurburgring lap times are for bragging rights in the golf club bar and not much else.  If I wanted to do that I'd get a trailer and a track car.

Funny how that Jaguar is a British brand yet even they have to get confirmation that it will be sold domestically.

Yeah, whatever ... NEXT!!

Slightly off topic. Would that V8 fit in an XJ220? I for one would love to see the results if it did...

I agree with most people here.  Not really pretty but that's what most track focused GT cars are like when you slap on all these aero dynamic aids on and extra air in-take vents, which were not initially intended on the original design.  It's like trying to add an extension on a grade 1 listed victorian house.

I would have said the XJ220-S was the most extreme road legal Jaguar.

I'm going to hang on and wait for the XKR-S GT RSR MSport Superleggera Clubsport Racing Black LMP.
