£3000 off a new Astra or Corsa when trading in a car more than seven years old

Vauxhall has launched a new ‘swappage’ scheme, which offers an extra £1000 discount over the government’s own scrappage scheme.

Owners of cars more than seven years old can get a £3000 discount off a new three-door or five-door Astra and most new Corsa models.

To qualify for the scheme, the trade-in car must have tax, insurance and a valid MOT. There is no upper age limit for cars.

Yesterday the government announced it will extend the scrappage scheme until the end of March to ensure as much as possible of the £400 million set aside for the scheme is spent.

The Vauxhall scheme starts today and runs until the end of March.

However ridiculous Vauxhalls pricing is, Ford are around 5-10% more expensive.

I'm not surprised, it was grossly overpriced from the word go, they can't expect to sell any when a BMW 1-Series or Audi A3 Sportback can be had for less. Just goes to show what a joke the list prices are.
